Breath-taking path through the middle of a wild rocky theater

The Gemmi Pass is an ancient pass crossing, even Goethe used it on one of his trips to Switzerland. In other times, honorable travelers were even carried over the pass in sedan chairs, and if someone felt dizzy, the curtain was drawn! In fact, there is hardly a comparable route over an Alpine pass, because from down in Leukerbad it seems unbelievable that anything other than the most difficult climbing routes could pass through this rock face - and then there's a veritable drag trail right through the middle! If the descent is too much for you after the steep ascent, you can also take the cable car down to Leukerbad in comfort, and the views of the walls from the air are also fascinating.
