Geitholet

It's an easy - medium hike to Geitholet. A great place to bring the entire family. The trail is not marked, but visible. It winds up along the North side of the river in easy terrain. From the parking lot at Gåsbue you'll take the trail to the left of the cabins there. Walk the bridge across the river and follow the trail up through some birch woods. Pretty soon you´ll gain height and a beautiful view over the valley Dalsida and the elongated lake Ausjøen will appear.

Walk past the viewpoint of Geitholet for a couple of minutes and you'll find a small creek where you can fill your water bottle with fresh mountain water and eat your packed lunch. For the adventurous it's possible to go down in the gorge, but it's very steep - so it's at your own risk. On a sunny, hot summers day we recommend you go for a swim in the river, just downstream for the bridge.
