One of the most beautiful – and moreover freely accessible – caves of the Leitha Mountains is the approximately 50 m long, but only between 1 and 1.7 m high Bear Cave (or »Ludl-Loch«) on the Zeilerberg near Winden, which we want to explore on this leisurely round. On the way back, we pass the open-air museum of the Italian sculptor Wander Bertoni with various sculptures.
From Winden station, we head towards the parish church of St. Florian, passing it on the left, then diagonally left on the »Culture Route« through Kirchengasse and its continuation, Franz-Liszt-Straße. We cross the B 50 and continue straight ahead on Bruckerstraße, still on asphalt, soon through fields and vineyards. We cross the cherry blossom cycle path, pass some wine cellars, and come to a former quarry with small caves. About 200 m further, a signpost points right to the Bear Cave, which we reach via steps. The two entrances to the cave are locked with a gate that can be opened. After the detour to the Bear Cave, we can also visit the Hubertus Chapel located on the other side of the road. Then we continue straight along Bruckerstraße and after about 1.3 km reach the Bruckneudorf firing range (barriers, warning signs). In front of this, we turn left and immediately take the gravel road branching off to the left. This splits after about 170 m; here we take the diagonal right path
