From Toubkal Base Camp to the sanctuary of Sidi Chamharouch
This especially entertaining and easy hike downhill through the Toubkal Valley is a real relaxation after a Toubkal crossing.
Before heading back to civilization, you should fully enjoy the fantastic nature in the rear Toubkal Valley once again and perhaps make a morning visit to the pastures with the goats or take a refreshing shower under the nearby waterfall of the Oued Rheraya stream. Refreshed with “natural” energy, you can then head, newly motivated, on the well-trodden path along the “main route” in the Toubkal massif downhill on the “march.” After all, the sanctuary of Sidi Chamharouch, an important pre-Islamic marabout shrine with a sacred white rock, awaits at today's destination. So after the physical effort, a bit of culture follows. From the Toubkal basecamp at 3,200 m in the gigantic valley basin of the Toubkal massif, the well-marked and easy path leads gently downhill following the valley course towards Chamharouch.
