This pleasure route connects a small, very popular excursion spot with a beach together with the path through a gorge, the ascent to a plateau, and the steep descent to a historic Roman settlement and wonderfully situated bathing option. The path is part of the long-distance hiking trail E4 and can also be extended to Palaeochora.
Author’s recommendation
The outbound or return journey can also be made by boat.

Roadbook
The route starts at Strandstraße and leads past numerous cafés and restaurants to the small harbor. From here, the marked path leads into the Lissos gorge. At an overhanging rock wall on the right, the ascent to the plateau begins on the left (sign!), where you find dense vegetation and shade under trees for a rest. Now begins the partly steep but unproblematic descent – past the Greek flag painted on a rock – first to historic Lissos and then further to the beach. The same way back, unless you choose the circular route through the Lissos gorge.
