This beautiful circular route leads from the east up to the very popular hiking mountain in the Emmental Alps, the Napf.
Hiking trails lead to the Napf, probably the most popular viewpoint between Emmental and Entlebuch, from all directions. For our route, we choose a path from the east and start in Holzwegen above Romoos. Along the ridge, we hike over Goldsitenegg towards Mättebergegg, enjoying views of the Alps and the Central Plateau. Soon we reach the alp Stächelegg; here, an information board draws our attention to the geology and the gold of the Napf area. In front of us rises the Hängst, beneath lies the Stächeleggflue with its distinctive Nagelfluh face. The summit is now within reach, and the magnificent panoramic view from the triangulation point is well deserved. After a lunch break at the mountain hotel, we descend the same way to Änzilegi and then hike from there on the Länggrat, opposite the ascent route, to Schwändi. The last short stretch then leads on the asphalt road back to Holzwäge.
