We start at the St. Felix and St. Regula Church and follow the road uphill to the left into the forest. After a short but steep climb along a forest path, we reach a comfortable forestry road. Along the relatively flat path, we pass the boundary stone "Gutshofweg" directly to the Roman manor house (1). The protected cultural monument shows the foundations of a Roman manor house from the period of Roman settlement in this area in the 1st to 3rd century AD. It is one of the few Roman manor houses confirmed by excavations. Leaving the manor house behind, we take the next turnoff via Wolfsgrabenweg to Salzbrünnele (2), an old enclosed spring whose name is clearly carved on the sandstone surround. A small rest area invites you to linger in this attractive natural landscape. The path through the Wolfsgraben (3) runs along a narrow forest trail, which can become slippery, especially in wet seasons. Shortly after, we reach the paved path again, which here is part of the Nollinger fitness trail with a forest educational path. Along the fitness trail established in 1980, information boards provide details about the forest and especially about forest dieback. At a bend in the fitness trail is an old boundary stone dated 1563, the so-called Totenkopfstein (4). The carved skull probably refers to the village of Geitlikon (Gelken), which was destroyed by a flood in 1504 and never rebuilt; its boundaries extended to this spot. The village was likely located south of today's Gelkenhof in the valley basin. According to old records in the parish archive Herten-Degerfelden, 34 people drowned during the night flood. Shortly after the Totenkopfstein, we reach the parking lot with a rest area and playground on the connecting road to Obereichsel. We follow the road a short distance to the left before turning right at the next opportunity. Immediately afterward, at the next fork, we choose the left path, which gently goes downhill. At the next large junction, we go right, steadily uphill, then turn left past the water reservoir heading back toward Nollingen. After the Schützenhaus, a paved footpath leads us down into the village. From here, we have a beautiful view of the Rhine plain and Rheinfelden. Upon re-entering the forest, we could directly cross the road back to our starting point, but we first make a detour through the Bachtelengraben (5). This narrow ravine path, steadily uphill through a gully, is a special experience but only suitable for sure-footed hikers with good footwear. Over a small staircase, we reach a forest path, follow it to the left, and shortly after meet a forestry road. This leads us directly back to the connecting road to Obereichsel (6). With an open view of the Rhine plain, we walk downhill to the next opportunity, where we turn right onto an asphalted footpath that leads directly to Nollingen. Along Obere Dorfstraße, the old village center of Nollinger Oberdorf with houses partly dating from the 17th century, we shortly thereafter reach our starting point at the church. Just below the church, at the bridge, is the main spring source of the Nollinger village stream, marked by a large stone.
