Rettenberg lies picturesquely framed between Grünten on one side and Rottachberg on the other. Easy hiking trails lead directly out of the village onto the wooded ridge of the latter. A dense network of hiking trails runs through the beautiful mixed forests and lush green meadows and pastures. From Falkenstein, the highest point of Rottachberg, we enjoy a magnificent view into the Iller valley. On the descent, the viewpoint pavilion on Gebhardshöhe especially invites a rest. Here, a grand panorama stretches from Grünten over the Oberstdorf mountains and the Hörner Group to the Mittag.
