From Oberdorf via Hinterweissenstein to the intermediate station Nesselboden

You start at the base station of the Weissenstein gondola and hike upwards for about an hour. The hiking trail initially follows a short stretch of the pass road and then leads through the forest towards Gartenmatt or Hinterweissenstein. The path is clearly signposted. Only after about 800 meters do you have to take the turnoff to Hinterweissenstein on the left – instead of towards Nesselboden – Gartenmatt.

After one hour, you leave the forest and reach a field path from the hiking trail, which after a last short ascent leads to the Hinterweissenstein restaurant. Here you can refresh yourself. From the hiking trail towards Weissenstein, you soon reach the hiking trail to Nesselboden on the right, beside the road. The path goes downhill to the intermediate station Nesselboden. Hardcore hikers skip the comfortable descent by gondola and hike down the Gartenmatt trail to the base station or Oberdorf station in about three-quarters of an hour.
