A city tour of Nyon can be done before or after this hike. It's about 3.5 hours walking time from Nyon to Coppet, mostly on firm surfaces, so a boat trip is well deserved. The destination in Coppet is the Château de Coppet. From spring to autumn, castle tours are available. Personal objects of Madame de Staël, a famous castle resident in the 19th century, are shown among other things. Of course, you could return from Coppet to Nyon by train in a few minutes. However, the boat ride is nicer. The trip promises the most beautiful views of the Lake Geneva shoreline. At the boat landing in Nyon, you can then stroll: through the alleys up to the castle and to the Roman columns before finally reaching the train station. You could also finish the hike halfway at Céligny, where there is also a boat landing.
