This hike is a wonderful scenic route from Nesselboden via Balmfluechöpfli and down the Spitzflüeliwägli to Oberdorf.
From the Nesselboden station you reach the so-called Schattenberg in the shady forest to Nesselbodenröti. Here follow the signpost Balmfluechöpfli and master the last steep ascent in 15 minutes. On the Balmfluechöpfli you enjoy a fantastic view. It is advisable to bring binoculars. Then head back towards Nesselboden on the south side of the Schattenberg, called Vorberg, through the bright mountain forest. At Nesselboden turn off to Stigelos (signposted). Now hike steeply down over an impressive rock step with a railing and after six hairpin bends join the hiking trail and follow it towards Oberdorf (Spitzflüeliwägli). A hairpin bend above the junction to the Spitzflüeliweg leads an inconspicuous, unmarked path in about 300 meters to the Rundloch. A mystical place and a very beautiful hidden viewpoint in the middle of the mountainside.

Above the Spitzflüeliweg lies the geological peculiarity called the Rundloch. Difficult to find because it is not signposted – it is best to ask the locals.
