    Roadbook

We start at the corner of Schulstraße/Freiherr-von-Mirbach-Straße and follow Wacholderstraße north. After crossing the Mirbach, the Eifelsteig branches off to the left, which we follow downstream. This takes us always on the orographically right side of the stream into the Lampertstal. There we turn left over the Mirbach and again right over the Lampertsbach. Again to the right, the Lampertstal goes down about 1 km until a small valley each forks in from the left and right. We climb up the left valley and later keep right along the forest edge.

At the five-way junction, we take the leftmost path, which we follow to the second turnoff to the right. The path continues uphill, half left, to the paved road. On it, continue until the saddle with a view of Ripsdorf. There we leave the paved road again to the left, along the edge of the slope. We pass two paths to the right and turn right onto the third one. Immediately left again and then once more to the right. Now it goes uphill again to the first houses of Ripsdorf. Before the first houses, on the small ridge, we turn left towards Bämel. Passing it to the south and taking the second path to the right, then half-right and half-left turns, until we meet the Eifelsteig again.

We follow it to the left (southwest). After a while, it turns right to a farm. Before that, it goes left again and soon right again to the road from Ripsdorf to Alendorf, which we cross. Behind it, continue left on a wide sandy road. After 300 m, we turn half-left onto a field path, which we follow straight ahead until it leads left around the Griesheuel. Behind the Griesheuel, continue left on the Eifelsteig to Alendorf. The views of the juniper heaths and the Calvary Hill near Alendorf are wonderful here. A rest area with a bench and table invites you to linger there.

We reach the old church St. Agatha with cemetery north of Alendorf (below the church: a café for refreshments). From there, we climb the Calvary Hill from the north. The sandstone crosses of the Stations of the Cross are very worth seeing! On the path, we descend south, partly steeply, into the Lampertstal and follow the Eifelsteig past the Rohrtaler Bach and Wammesbach. Shortly after the Wammesbach flows into the Lampertsbach, we cross the stream over the bridge and thus reach the orographically right side of the valley.

We follow the path that leaves the valley to the south. We take the left of the three paths that divide there. After a short piece, at the fork, we continue left uphill again. We pass fields and meadows but always stay on the main path to Mirbach. Shortly before reaching the open fields in front of Mirbach, a path branches off half-left to the southwest. We follow this along the forest edge, through a small forest, and immediately behind it, down left along the meadow into the valley. Below, we cross the field path and follow the old path, always along the forest edge. Around the tip of the forest, slightly uphill again to the next forest edge on the left, along it back to Mirbach.
