From Kemmeriboden-Bad to Furggengütsch and Hohgant
The Hohgant massif is a mountain range that falls very steeply to the north. It lies between the – better said – sources of the Grosse Emme, which flows around the chain from the foot of the Augstmatthorn to the east and north, and the Eriz basin to the west. The massif continues just as prominently northeast – beyond the deeply incised Emme – into the Schrattenfluh and southwest – beyond the Grünenberg Pass – into the Sieben Hengste. Its rocky ravines, about seven kilometers long, culminate in the main peaks Trogenhorn (1973 m), Hohgant West (2063 m), Hohgant (Steinigi Matte, 2163 m), Furggengütsch (2197 m, the highest Hohgant summit), and Brünneligrind (1790 m).
