This varied, but long and strenuous connecting trail between Hermigua and Vallehermoso rewards the hiker with magnificent impressions of the north of the island – it mostly runs high above the north coast and touches on Lepe, Agulo, and Tamargada, perhaps the best-preserved old Canarian village, some of the most beautiful places on La Gomera.
The signposted road junction (roundabout) from the GM-1 to Playa de Hermigua is located 1 km below the lower town center of Hermigua with the church in the district of La Castellana. The road leads down in 10 minutes (at the Bar Piloto left with GR 132, white-red) to the stony Playa de Santa Catalina and takes us left in another 10 minutes to the village of Lepe located above the coast. At the end of the road, the GR 132 continues right on a camino (at the following fork left, then right). It quickly leaves the hamlet behind, crosses a ravine, and then climbs steeply to Agulo. After about 20 minutes, the path leads into a street, which forks after 5 minutes at the first houses – here left and a few minutes later at the supermarket right onto Calle del Calvario towards the church and straight on to the cemetery at the other end of town.
