Hiking to the Bachsee is not exactly an original idea. After all, many do it. But at the Bachsee, completely different perspectives open up, for example the route to the Wildgärst. The ascent begins at the fork shortly before the Bachsee; we therefore take the marked path to the right, which leads us to a nameless lake. We see the Bachsee from above, above it the Faulhorn, and on the horizon the prominent Grindelwald summits. Then the path pulls into the Hiendertelli. The scenery there is somewhat gloomy. In particular, this massive rock ridge running from the Grosseegg over the Widderfeldgrätli to the Schwarzhorn seems eerie. Its long shadows fall on the unfortunate Hagelseeli and Häxeseeli. At the Wart crossing it is sunny again. “Wildgärst 35 minutes” promises the signpost. Those who want to skip the summit detour may remain seated or continue hiking. But that would be a pity.
