From Col du Pillon via Les Diablerets and La Palette to Lac Retaud
From Col du Pillon we follow the signpost towards Les Diablerets and reach after just a few minutes a viewpoint overlooking the «Cascade du Dar». The waterfall consists of two sections: «Cascade du Dar I» with a height of 72 meters and «Cascade du Dar II» with a height of 79 meters. A worthwhile photo motif for some, a sporting challenge for others, since an airy sport climbing route runs in the vertical rock walls: the «Via Ferrata de la Cascade». But even ordinary hikers soon experience a bit of thrill: shortly before Les Diablerets, a suspension bridge crosses the river Le Dar. In Les Diablerets we stroll through the village, past wooden chalets and a church. Then the long ascent begins: first slowly to the former upper station of the Diablerets–Isenau cable car, and from there steeply up to La Palette. The panoramic view extends from the nearby Diablerets massif to the Bernese Alps, far below you can see the Arnensee in the Saanenland and the Lac Retaud near Col du Pillon. From
