The trail connecting Cadaqués to the pretty bay of Jóncols to the south winds through charming mountainous terrain with views of the endless sea. Everywhere, the remnants of ancient cultivated landscapes catch the eye—land that was, here as elsewhere, painstakingly carved out of this steep coastal region.
At Platja Gran in Cadaqués, we first take the path to the Cala Nans lighthouse as far as the walled parking lot. Here, we stay to the right on the GR-92 toward Jóncols, which immediately branches off to the left from the dirt road and subsequently either cuts across the road’s curves or runs alongside it. We follow the red-and-white markings all the way to a hiking sign 50 meters before Mas d’en Baltre. From here, we continue on the road toward Cala Jóncols. Passing a fork where a path on the left descends to the Planassa plain, we now hike along the road through several valleys at a constant elevation. With magnificent views of the sea, the route leads to the small saddle of Pla de la Figura. Here we turn left onto the marked hiking trail, which circles the hill of Puig d’en Manyana and descends parallel to the road. It briefly intersects with the road further down, immediately branches off again, and then meets it once more. Continue here on the road, past a barrier, and immediately
