From Binn to the Binntal hut
The hike to the Binntal hut can be enhanced with a detour to the Albrun Pass and/or the Lengenbach mineral mine. From afar, the hammering and knocking can already be heard there.
The stones sparkle in the Binntal. More than 200 mineral species are said to occur in the "Valley of Hidden Treasures." However, the Binntal is not only rich in minerals but also in architectural monuments. Sun-kissed houses stand in the villages, and in Binn the Ofenhorn Hotel is a contemporary witness of the Belle Époque. The hike to the Binntal hut first follows the Binna river to Imfeld. At the local restaurant, the path winds through the forest before the terrain becomes steep and the scenery magnificent. The beautifully shaped Ofenhorn rises high. The hut path is identical to the old mule track over the Albrun Pass. This connects the Binntal with the Italian Ossola valleys. If you still have enough breath at the Binntal hut, you can ascend to the pass crossing in half an hour. The descent initially follows the same way. At Wyssbach we then take the branch to the Halsesee, which we reach after a short ascent. The mountain lake promises a welcome cool down on hot days. At
