Balmberg is a pass in the canton of Solothurn. It connects Welschenrohr with Günsberg. Balmberg is also a popular excursion destination, here the rope park is mentioned. The path from Balmberg on the paved road to Weissenstein is easy and also suitable for bikers. Since it leads north-facing through the forest, it is shady and mostly damp. However, after about two kilometers, when you emerge from the forest to the height of Weissenstein into the sun, you will be more than compensated for the somewhat cool and dull ascent. From the height, the field path leads directly to the Weissenstein pass summit and there to the Sennhaus and the mountain station of the cable car, which conveniently brings you to Oberdorf station. From there, the train runs hourly back to Solothurn. It should also be mentioned that there are several very nice fire places around the Weissenstein pass summit area. Those who like to stop for a meal can do so before the descent by cable car at the Sennhaus restaurant or the Hotel Weissenstein.
