The Mayflower Rock marks the start of an impressive rock section at the gates of Pirmasens. The path also leads from one beautiful refreshment spot to the next. First, the excursion restaurant Forsthaus Beckenhof, only about 800 m further the idyllic Waldhaus Starkenbrunnen. The strong spring, from which the hut gets its name, unfortunately dried up in 2003 – probably not forever, as it has recovered from such an incident before. It would be a shame for the best spring water in the region. Next to Lemberg Castle, where you can not only enjoy food but also participate in guided tours through the medieval well tunnel or admire the visitor information center and climb the beautiful viewing platform. Soon the shoe city Pirmasens is reached. After the return trip, you'll know why the train takes so long for this section of the route – honestly!
