Fricktaler Höhenweg (2): Zeiningen - Wegenstetten
Second stage of the Fricktaler Höhenweg from Zeiningen to Wegenstetten
This stage leads you up to the fertile Tafeljura plateau. The lush green and the view over the hilly landscape make the excursion a unique experience.
From a bus stop in Zeiningen, after a climb to Burgacherhof, you reach the scenic forest edge of the Zeiningerberg above the vineyards. Following the Spitzgraben uphill is the picturesque Chriesiberg (450 m). Towards Schupfart airfield (545 m), you walk over the fertile Tafeljura plateau past Looberg (571 m) and Wabrig (556 m). Soon you will reach your destination, the lovely Fricktaler village of Wegenstetten.
The Fricktaler Höhenweg – 60 well-signposted kilometres of hiking that enchant in every season!
Along the Fricktaler Höhenweg, you experience the Fricktal from its most beautiful side. When cherry blossoms bloom and meadows shine yellow. When a thunderstorm approaches in the distance and the rest by the barbecue spot or in the restaurant is so cozy that you want to linger forever. Or when in autumn the coloured leaves cover the forest path and on clear winter days, the heights of the Fricktal, the Black Forest and the Basel region rise white into the sky.
The Fricktaler Höhenweg has a total length of about 60 well-marked hiking kilometres from the Zähringer town Rheinfelden over the heights of the Tafeljura to Frick and further to the wine village Mettau. The trails are marked with blue hiking signs and identified with the Fricktaler Lindenblatt. The route can be divided into 4 stages. The fourth stage can also be divided into two sections.
