Hiking in Albringhausen and Schorlingborstel. The hiking trails are characterized by gently rolling, varied landscapes with old forest and tree stock and historic, idyllic farmsteads. Many locations in the two villages express the lively, community-organized village life. The Boar and Fox Trails together form a large circular hike over both villages of about 7 km in length (outer loop). However, one should not miss the charming route through Heidsiek. Starting points are at the shelters in Albringhausen near the monument and in Schorlingborstel at the village community center. The Fox Trail in Albringhausen forms the northern route and leads through Heidsiek, Lindschlag, and the Albringhausen Heath. The Boar Trail in Schorlingborstel forms the southern route via Heidsiek, into the village of Albringhausen, and from there over the Boar Heath back to the village community center.

We start the hike at the Albringhausen monument square at the shelter. We head south along the village street and turn right at the Eckhoff cider mill by the restored fire pond. Here, with funds from the Nature Conservation Foundation, a so-called 'Schlatt' has been recreated, which is being ecologically developed further. On the road to Schorlingborstel, we turn right again at the next opportunity and go over open fields and meadows to the forest and pond area Heidsiek. Those who take a small detour to the right before the forest reach a former fish pond with an island in the beech forest (private property). Back on the hiking trail, we continue towards Schorlingborstel. On the left, in the village's former sand pit, an ecological gem has developed. Along the trail, it now goes 'downhill' and crosses the Schorlingborstel Beeke to the junction of the two hiking trails. The Fox Trail follows the Schorlingborstel village street to the right. After a few meters, you can see the stork's nest set up by the Salher family in the meadows by the Beeke. Opposite, a bench invites silent observation and rest. Further along the trail on the right is the lovingly thatched half-timbered barn of the Bahn family, one of two buildings in the village under monument protection. Between the cowshed of the Salher family and the horse farm of the Storch family, the village street continues and crosses the Beeke again before we reach district road 127 and turn left. After just a few meters on the district road, we enter the Lindschlag forest area on the right. Following the signage through the forest, we pass the municipal forest kindergarten. There, usually 15 children and 2 educators have been playing and learning in the open nature since 1996. The daycare group – one of the first in Germany – has given itself the name 'Foxes' and has become the namesake of this hiking trail. After leaving the forest, we follow the straight road and pass the music garden and the beekeeping of Diana Sturm and a guest room house of the Beckefeldt family. At the turning towards the district road, it is only a few hundred meters to the starting point of the Fox Trail at the monument square.
