UFFBASSE! – Campaign for a considerate coexistence in nature
- Fire & Smoking - Making fire, smoking, and grilling are strictly prohibited in the forest and must be absolutely avoided! Fires and thus great damage to nature and wildlife can only be prevented this way.
- Being considerate on the move - Always behave with foresight, friendliness, and consideration towards everyone you meet. This applies especially on farm roads where vintners, farmers, and foresters also work on weekends.
- Nature conservation - Stay on the designated paths and avoid unnecessary noise when you are in nature. Leave the forest at the latest at dusk to avoid disturbing the rhythm of nocturnal animals.
- Picnic & Waste - Remember a garbage bag for on the way and take your rubbish back home. Use only furnished rest areas for breaks and picnics.
- Leash your dogs - Please keep your dog on a leash at all times. Other visitors and animals will thank you.

St. Anna- HütteSafety information
Hiking on natural trails and paths - Especially in autumn, be aware that falling leaves on the ground can hide unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or heavy rain, trees may still fall or branches may drop afterwards. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural paths can be muddy and slippery in places. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Sure-footedness is necessary in some places. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. If you think certain sections are not passable for you, you should bypass them. Despite the “impossible to get lost” marking of the premium hiking trails, we recommend always carrying an appropriate hiking map for safety reasons, so that you can quickly find a safe area, for example, in case of a thunderstorm or emergency. Closures and detours must be strictly observed.
Emergency situations - In case of an emergency, quick help is needed. And even though cell phones can send GPS signals, classic rescue points are often the fastest. These are located at points easily accessible to rescue vehicles. Remember the points with green signs and a white cross. In an emergency, return there and give the number on the sign when you call for help. This way, rescuers know where to find you.

Roadbook
The path starts in front of the sanatorium on the outskirts of Gleisweiler. From there, it runs along the lime tree avenue to a short staircase above the forest parking lot. Here it branches off and initially leads on a narrow path and later on wide paths through forests dominated by sweet chestnuts on the lower slope of the Haardtrand. Near the ring wall, the Fox Path branches off from the Trifelsblickweg and leads along the eastern slope of the Teufelsberg to the St. Anna hut of the Palatinate Forest Association Burrweiler. From there, it is only a short distance back to the pilgrimage church St. Anna chapel. From the chapel, there is a beautiful view over the vineyard landscape on the Wine Route and over the Rhine Plain. The path continues for a short section on a forest trail down to the Annagut restaurant above the vineyards of Burrweiler. From there, it goes a short distance through the forest to the entrance to Gleisweiler. This picturesque wine village is crossed from north to south to the starting point at the sanatorium.
