Our starting point is the "Fosselv Camping" campsite located on the E6. A beautiful campsite, situated directly on the Straumfjord. It impresses with a state-of-the-art sanitary facility as well as a first-class kitchen and common room.
The hike to the waterfall is quite easy, the path is well marked by red signs. With the goal always in sight, the hiking trail leads from fjord height through easily walkable terrain up about 270 meters in elevation. The distance from the campsite to the waterfall is about 2 km. Hiking boots are advisable and our hiking poles were a helpful support during the descent. This hike is suitable for children. Not only because of its short length but also because of the gigantic impression the waterfall makes when standing in front of it. The fall height of Fosselvfossen is 64 meters. When standing in front of the waterfall, you have already passed the tree line at about 230 meters elevation and can enjoy the beautiful view over the Straumfjord. We needed about 2 hours for the entire route of about 4 km, including many "photo stops."
