Author’s recommendation
The Flatzer Wand offers many hiking possibilities with varied paths. Besides the well-known sport climbing routes, there are also, as these paths show, nice options for more demanding hikes.
The Langen Loch is only accessible in summer to protect the bats. The passage requires a flashlight and also some climbing skills.

Safety information
Only go in dry weather - risk of slipping. The part of the hike at Flatzer Loch requires some climbing. If the hike is to be done with children, it is advisable to walk the route beforehand. The Ternitzer Steig is marked "difficult" on the sign, steep and partly slippery even in dry weather due to leaves.Tips and suggestions
The Naturfreundehaus is operated on weekends. see http://neunkirchen.naturfreunde.at/UeberUns/detail/26959Roadbook
From Flatz follow the signposts towards the Naturfreundehaus and Fürststeig. On the Fürststeig to the first rocks, the so-called Schiebebögen. Here is the information board for Flatzer Loch. Through the left Schiebebogen along the blue marking, a small path below the rocks. Slightly climb down to the Ternitzer Steig (marked yellow). If you look carefully you will also find the Lochsteighöhle. On the other side, immediately climb back up over the rocks and we are already at Flatzer Loch. Here, Klampfen invite you to climb up. In easy, short climbing, you enter the well-known passage cave. The blue dots lead further up. Following these, you come to the upper part of the Ternitzer Steig. Climb this more or less laboriously uphill. At the top of the path, a further ascent to the Naturfreundehaus is recommended. For the descent, as seen uphill on the right, to the junction of Fürststeig. Down this path, a securing chain soon begins and it is relatively easy to go back through the Schiebebögen. Once back on the main path, you can rest on the meadow near the grill station. Then follow the forest path towards Flatz. Passing the junction to Jubiläums- and Doppelsteig. We choose the Riesssteig uphill - this is an easy ascent (1-), interspersed with rocks, leading to the ridge. From there a short section downhill to the next signpost 'Wandsteig.' Down through the rock face to the blue markings, which lead past the Marienhöhle, Bergmilchkluft to Langen Loch, to Neue Höhle, and other caves.
From here back to the starting point.
