The Five-Lakes Loop also runs through the gently rolling hilly landscape in front of the mountains – in this case even a good distance from the Alpine backdrop. As the name suggests, a handful of scattered lakes and ponds give the landscape its special charm. The most well-known and largest here is the Schwaltenweiher – also a popular destination for summer swimming excursions.
At the church in Seeg, 854 m, we watch for the sign that sends us northwards down into the fields on the Five-Lakes Trail. Underneath the bypass road into the Schleihseemoos, which lies immediately east of the Seeg lakes. Later keeping right to the road that leads us to the nearby village of Albatsried, about 830 m. The neighboring hamlet Aleuthen is only skirted, as before the first houses we turn onto a field path. This leads us through rolling meadow terrain to the duo of Trollweiher and Luimooser Weiher, 848 m. Passing to the left, we reach the farms of Luimoos and the country road by the Schwaltenweiher, 839 m. On the cycle path, to the right past Allgäuer Hof (camping) and behind it turning left towards Goldhasen. Before the hamlet, we pass the so-called lakeside terrace with kiosk and lawn above the west shore. We circle the Schwaltenweiher on driveways and paths and come across the road connection to Anwanden opposite. This is only crossed, then we proceed on the private road

Mark Zahel
