The Fiumicelli Valley is the ideal introductory tour for canyoning beginners. The typical Bavella Valley offers both gentle and, with the gorge towards the end, more dramatic landscapes. Comfortable wading sections in the stream alternate with short swimming passages through crystal-clear bathing pools, and occasionally a small jump into the water is required at cascades. Additionally, one or another sandbank invites you to stay and bathe. Unfortunately, the old hiking trail from Rocchiu Pinzutu to the Fiumicelli is currently so overgrown and blocked by fallen trees that the tour in this direction can at best be recommended only to very hardened, experienced mountain hikers. We strongly recommend everyone else to start at the Fiumicelli bridge and hike the tour in the opposite direction – and turn back if the climbing sections become too challenging.
After the access path from Rocchiu Pinzutu to Fiumicelli was recently extremely overgrown, we strongly recommend all less hardened and experienced hikers to start at the endpoint (Fiumicelli bridge) and hike into the valley only as far as your abilities allow or until you find a nice bathing spot. Experienced, adventurous hikers, on the other hand, start at Rocchiu Pinzutu: past the building on the left, below the road, the hiking trail begins. Unfortunately, this is private, so you have to follow the road for 50 m until a steep, slippery path branches off to the right in front of the rock head, leading down to the hiking trail. It runs roughly at the same altitude through the bush forest and is barely recognizable (extremely overgrown!). After about three quarters of an hour, it crosses the Laron stream and reaches the Fiumicelli sandbank 10 minutes later. Here begins the adventurous cascade tour. Hikers with good stamina can make a detour upstream to the spectacular Rivetu waterfall,
