A beautiful circular hiking route past the picturesque Finsterbach waterfalls.
The waterfall path leads into the Finsterbach gorge past three waterfalls over 20 meters high.

Safety information
Gorges and ravines count as alpine areas despite possible proximity to municipal road networks and mountaineering with corresponding alpine dangers. These dangers include:
- self- or externally triggered rockfalls and forestry-related dangers especially after storm events (heavy rain, wind and snow breakage, falling branches, etc.) despite annual inspections
- risk of falling off marked trails or improper use of infrastructure (bridges)
- slip hazards in wet and icy conditions
- limited visibility due to fog
Despite the annual infrastructural and organizational measures, appropriate equipment (see equipment recommendation) and vigilance for objective dangers are required.

Roadbook
At the Sattendorf tourist information, cross the federal road and follow the village street to the waterfall path, where you turn off and go slightly uphill to the north to the beginning of the Finsterbach ravine. Here you will find the first waterfall right away. Now you go higher on a path with several hairpin bends on the left side of the creek. After just a few minutes, you reach the junction to the 2nd waterfall. The path to the 3rd waterfall leads back to the main trail and uphill there to a fork. Follow the signpost to the 3rd waterfall here. Now enter the Finsterbach gorge. Then you cross the creek twice on small bridges and reach the end of the trail at the foot of the 3rd waterfall. Return along the same path to the previously described junction to the 3rd waterfall. From there, hiking trail no. 2 continues in a northwest direction, gently ascending over a small wooden bridge past two more junctions and then crosses a newly built forest road. After the further ascent, you reach the viewpoint under a willow tree inviting you to linger. After a relaxing rest, follow the familiar trail from the ascent to the first fork after the 3rd waterfall. From here, always follow trail no. 34 and the signs back to Sattendorf.

Take the ÖBB to Sattendorf train station. From there, it is just a few minutes to the town center to the elementary school / police station Sattendorf.
Directions
From Villach on the Ossiacher See federal road (B94) to Sattendorf, then turn left into the village street and continue on it to the elementary school Sattendorf (left side).
Coming from Feldkirchen/Steindorf on the Ossiacher See federal road (B94) to Sattendorf, then turn right into the village street and continue on it to the elementary school Sattendorf (left side).

Public parking at the elementary school, opposite the police station (50m from the former Gasthof zum Wasserfall).
