Fentberg

Leave the platform in Darching towards the nearby railway crossing. Cross the tracks there and on the other side, keeping left, pass the parking lot in the opposite direction. The small road continues to follow the railway line and turns right after a railway crossing that only needs to be passed. At the next junction, keep left and cross the tracks via a third railway crossing. After the first farmstead, the residential street merges into a crossing road. Follow this to the right, but turn left immediately at the end of the development. The paved farm road runs parallel to the railway line but at some distance to the west and finally reaches a country road. Follow this for a few meters to the right, then leave it again to the left after a few meters. A farm road leads straight towards the nearby forest. At the only larger crossroads, veer slightly to the right onto another wide forest road, which soon leads out of the forest heading west and ends in open terrain at a crossing track. Turn left there and follow the good path southwards, ignoring all side paths, to Draxlham. Pass the small village without changing direction and continue on an asphalt road over wide meadows towards Osterwarngau. Not far from the village, the road flows into a main road; follow it left towards Osterwarngau. At the first opportunity, turn right onto Holzkirchener Straße, which leads past the church into the town center. Beyond the church, continue straight ahead and follow a residential street to Birkenweg. This quickly reaches the crossing Nüchternbrunnweg; continue left on this. After the last house on the right side of the street, a forest path begins on the right, which climbs steeply and is accompanied by a Way of the Cross to the ridge. At the highest point, cross the local road and descend a few meters on the other side to the Nüchternbrunn pilgrimage church.

After the well-deserved break, a path leads back up to the ridge and thus to the wide road. Follow it now to the right, heading east. Always following the height, pass the large crossroads at Grünen Marter. After Weißen Marter, a path finally leads up a large meadow to the Neustadl farmstead. Beyond the buildings, the footpath soon reaches the forest again and continues to the ascending road. Follow this further over the ridge and choose the middle continuation at a striking three-part junction. This passes the inconspicuous highest point of the Fentberg on its right flank and shortly reaches an excellent viewpoint at the forest edge.

The path then descends briskly and reaches a forest road after a hairpin bend. Follow this to the left and descend a little monotonously through mostly dense forest towards Darching. Already in the valley, an asphalt road continues and leads straight towards and as a mountain road through Oberdarching. In Mitterdarching, the junction with Bahnhofsstraße at the height of the church is reached. Turn right there and follow the street until the already known railway crossing, from which the station is quickly reached.
