From the hiking car park we walk a bit along the Kirchengrund to find the entrance to the rock gate. From there through the forest and along the field path to the doline. We circle the Breitenberg and follow the road to Gößweinstein. There we climb the Fischersruh, the favorite viewpoint of a long-time vacationer.
Those who are now hungry and thirsty can stop at the Post inn; those who can still persevere wait until the Stempfermühle in the Wiesent valley.
From there it goes steeply uphill again to Gößweinstein castle, then through the town to Ludwigshöhe and past the Elisabeth grotto with the holy water back to the hiking car park.
