Fairy Tale Circular Route near Schenkenfelden
This approximately 3 km long circular route is very well suited for families with small children. Along the way, there are 13 fairy tale stations carved out of wood with a short description of the fairy tale. Some stations invite you to linger, rest, chat, and play.
It wouldn’t be the Mühlviertel if, besides the path in the forest, there were not rock blocks and rock formations ranging from 1 to 5 meters in size, just waiting to be climbed by children.
Two natural playgrounds complete the offer for the little ones.
Author’s recommendation
The visit to Hirtstein, located 15 minutes away with a summit cross and summit book, is definitely worthwhile. For young adventurers, seeking out the Hermit's Cave is a must.
Drinks and a snack for the little explorers and discoverers never hurt.

From the parking lot, the Fairy Tale Route (MWW) is very well signposted. It can be walked both clockwise and counterclockwise. The entire MWW can also be accessed with a stroller (strollers with larger wheels are advantageous).
If you omit Hirtstein and the Hermit's Cave, the entire route shortens to about 3 km.
The additional detour up to Hirtstein is no longer easily suitable for strollers. However, it should be possible with large wheels.
Along the way, there are always benches for resting.
