Flower meadows, a castle in the valley, enchanted paths, and repeatedly wide views make this hike a wonderful experience. Especially the orchid-rich meadows above Piepert are a feast for the eyes (mainly in June).
From the bus stop in Wahlwiller, we walk to the traffic light intersection and from there onto the path towards the church. In front of the church, we turn right and then left into Pres. John F. Kennedystraat (this is where the motorists start), following a right curve along the Selzerbeek and crossing this stream at the end of the street. The first field path on the right (Kruisberg) leads us up a flower-covered slope. We cross a small road and turn right at the end. The tall wind turbines in the distance mark the German border.The first path to the left takes us into the valley of the Eyserbeek. We cross a railway line now only used for tourism, walk on the main street down in the village to the right and shortly thereafter turn left through the gate of Castle Goedenraad . At the front building, we take a look inside at the main building, turn right and then left on the road. After about 10 minutes, we leave this beautiful but sometimes busy road along the park at house No. 67 by
