Departure from the campground and arrival at the campground.
DESCRIPTION
Head toward the lake, walk along the right side of the lake below the pebble beach, then follow the small trail along the stream.
When you reach the end of the path, cross the bridge on the right; follow the yellow trail markers.
Walk along the departmental road for about ten meters on the right, cross it
with caution, and go through the tunnel.
On the other side, follow the signs for “Parcours des Eygaux.”
At signpost 509, continue in the same direction, heading straight up toward the small cottage, then turn left onto the trail. This trail takes you up a few switchbacks to the plateau.
At the intersection sign, you can take a short detour by continuing about 200 m to the left to reach an information board explaining the geological origins of the landscape. Otherwise, continue to the right toward Saint Marcellin by taking a trail along the ridges.
At the bottom of the trail, continue down on the right to cross the village, and follow the small road through the fields to reach the Departmental Road.
All that’s left is to cross it again—taking care, as before—and head back to the campground!

View of the surrounding area: the lake, the Eygaux Plateau, the Petit Buëch Valley, the hamlet of Saint Marcellin, and the
Solaire Campground pool
The plateau’s woodlands are a welcome respite in the summer thanks to their coolness (especially after the climb!).
