Extensive loop to the Iller bend

Start at the forest car park and follow the signs to Rothenstein. Shortly before Rothenstein, you pass the Kneipp water treading facility, then turn left, and walk a short stretch along the road. Opposite the hiking car park, the path goes right towards the Rechberg House, which you follow. Upon reaching the Rechberg House, you can make a small detour to our communication bench by turning left there. Then walk back to the Rechberg House and follow the sign "Iller experience bridge". Via a natural wood staircase, you get down to the Iller. Caution when wet!

Once down, turn right. After leaving the primeval forest-like part of the Iller again, follow the signs towards the Iller experience bridge.

Then start the return journey and first walk about 1 km back in the direction you came from. Then follow the signposted cycle path, which slightly turns left and leads relatively steeply uphill. At the top, watch out for the hiking trail signs and turn right there towards the Rechberg House. Along the forest edge, you reach the "Rotkreuz" and turn towards Rothmoos. There, take the road to Bad Grönenbach, which turns right, until you meet the nature experience trail. Follow the nature experience trail until you come out at the castle pond. Walk past the castle activity park and the sports field, cross Rothensteiner Street, the forest car park is then a few meters on the right.
