Experience Trail - Ostheimer Streifberg Route

Route

From the cemetery parking lot in Ostheim, walk towards the Streifberg. The first point is the geological outcrop with a barefoot trail. After 500 m, there is a short ascent to the first viewpoint. Here, stairs lead to the summit cross, where you can look far into the Haßberge towards the Rhön. The path then leads to the natural monument of the "large linden" and over the orchards to the natural monument "Himmelsweiher." The next stop is the interesting phenomenon of a doline; these sinkholes occur repeatedly in the area. Along the forest edge, you pass life-sized oil mountain figures, whose origin is still somewhat mysterious. The last stretch of the path offers views of Ostheim and is only a few hundred meters. The circular hiking trail has been extended with a sensory course for barefoot walkers – benches and tables invite you to rest in several places.
