The Evijärvi Valmosanneva-Jokisuulahti birdwatching tower is a great and easy nature trip destination.
The Evijärvi birdwatching tower is located at Valmosanneva on the southwestern shore of Jokisuunlahti. The tower provides an excellent base for birdwatching. Valmosanneva at the southern end of Evijärvi is a representative and protected mire in terms of its landscape, flora, and birdlife. The area's species diversity is rich and also includes rarities.
Regarding the black tern, the breeding population in Evijärvi is clearly the largest in Finland. Regionally abundant species include at least the nocturnal diver and the little bittern. Inland breeding of the white-tailed eagle is rare in South Ostrobothnia but the species has successfully bred in Evijärvi. The breeding populations of the whooper swan and crane are strong.
The bark-covered trail runs the entire length within the nature reserve through the forest section to Valmosanneva. The route is in good condition with no elevation changes.
There is a picnic spot along the trail; fire making is prohibited. Please take your litter with you.
There is an observation logbook in the birdwatching tower where you can record the species observed during your visit.
