In the southern Flemish Ardennes, several forest areas are scattered around the village of Everbeek – remnants of a large contiguous forest in the Middle Ages. The Kruislieveheer route opens up these areas and several small villages with churches, chapels, crucifixes – hence the name »Cross Lords' Way«. Of the numerous streams, three are named Molenbeek – a common stream name in Flanders – but they are not connected to each other. The circular route mostly follows the well-signposted and similarly long Everbeekpad, which itself is quite road-heavy.
The Sint Maria church in Everbeek-Beneden forms the starting point of this circular tour. Opposite the back of the church, where there are glass containers, a footpath leads south alongside a brick wall. At its end, continue straight along the cobblestone paved Lessensestraat and at its second right curve straight ahead on a narrow footpath beside hedges heading south. At a T-junction, turn left and at the junction with Rekenstraat turn left. After the Zarlardinge Mierenhoek bus stop, at the crossroads with Lessensestraat, take a slight right offset (Mierenhoek). At a right curve by KP 75, go straight onto the track. Ignore left turnoffs and after 5 minutes following a right curve near a tree strip at a farm at KP 79, reach a crossroads: straight ahead and after 100 m half-right onto a track to the former Pijkskapel. A steel monument from 2017 commemorates the chapel, which decayed in the 20th century and was built in 1813 by three riders from Everbeek after safely returning from
