Esrum - Nødebo

This route begins in the charming town of Esrum, home to a monastery, a monastery school, and a mill farm. The route takes us south along the Esrum Canal to Esrum Lake. We pass the Esrum Lake Shelter at the northern end of the lake and continue down Søvejen past Munkevanghus to Tumlinghus, where we take a short detour into the forest. Via Hvideportvej, we return to Esrum Lake at Kongens Bøge and follow the trail along the lakeshore. We pass Fændrik Hus and Graverhus, turn onto Søstien, and follow the lake closely through the forest and pastures until we reach Dronningens Bøge. (Good spot for lunch)

From here, the route heads into Gribskov. We’ll pass Skibet, Smørstenen, the memorial stone, and Kulsvierstenen. From there, we’ll head down and take a loop around the beautiful Store Gribsø. During the winter months, the route passes through the Osprey Reserve and leads up to Stjernen in Gribskov, where Søren Kierkegaard’s stone is located.
Finally, the route goes via Kærlighedsstien and Milestedsvej to the end at Skovskolen in Nødebo.
