Eschacher Pond

Route: Buchenberg – Eschacher Weiher – Steckenried – Schwarzerd – Einöde – Buchenberg

From Buchenberg, we hike past the “Sommerau” country inn toward Eschach. In the forest, we turn left and hike gently uphill through woods and meadows. At the first farm, we continue straight ahead and come to a crossroads. Here, however, we keep going straight and reach the pond after 500 m. When we reach the pond, we’re surprised by the beauty of this scenic preserve. The way back takes us back to the intersection. If there’s still enough time, we’ll take the longer route via Steckenried, to Schwarzerd, and through the Einöde back to Buchenberg.
