The small round starts at Villa Waldeck at the hiking car park and passes a fitness trail towards the Eppinger Line. This was built between 1695/97 by "Türkenlouis" Margrave Wilhelm of Baden to protect against the French.
The path continues to a trench and embankment at the northeastern edge of the Hornbuckel. This was created at the end of the 17th century as part of constructing the Eppinger Lines.
The Himmelleiter is an ascent in the Eppingen forest with 202 steps - starting from the Philosophenweg, the Baumannshütte is the goal.
Halfway through, there is a beautiful view at Kraichgaublick. You can also see beautiful landscapes along the way. These include, among others, the Essigberg view.
As a conclusion, at the end of the hike you can stop at the garden terrace or the restaurant of Villa Waldeck.
