Engelberg

The hike begins at Safenwil train station, leading under the railway tracks in a northern direction. You reach the houses of Rothacker; the ascent to Engelberg is ahead. The hiking trail is somewhat off the main road and leads through fields and forest up to the ridge. From here, you have a beautiful view of the other side of Engelberg. Däniken, Dulliken, and the Jura south slope of Lostorf are in sight. The high path passes the transfer station towards Wartburghöflichtung. High above the trees, you can see the distinctive silhouette of the Sälischlössli. If you don't mind the short detour, you can enjoy the great view of the Wiggertal and Aaretal from the terrace of the Sälischlössli. The path leads back, past the Wartburghöfen, down through the Schwarzhoor area and along the Franke site to Aarburg station.
