I am not a typical hiker, as I only came to this beautiful pastime through geocaching. Hiking routes like this one therefore also have the characteristic that there are hardly any longer stretches where there is nothing to see.
We start at the lovingly designed church square, which also offers a few parking spaces for guests.
A highlight is the sculpture path and the subsequent path of good conversation. Both should be looked at calmly on the next visit, because it continues to the Engabrunn heath - our festival area - and to the lookout, from which you can see deep into the Tullnerfeld and over to Göttweiger.
Through hollow paths, past loess walls and vineyards, we eventually reach the Feuersbrunn Trinity, where we might treat ourselves to a small snack (from our own backpack, of course!!). Through the forest and a few vineyards, it continues to the oasis, the viewing and listening place, and finally to the pentagonal stone (which you should definitely have seen).
Through the Wolfsgruben we hike back towards Engabrunn and finally come over the Stift to the art object by Duly Eder, the world beneath humanity.
A few steps further is already the Alte Milchhaus - rehearsal room of the music association and cultural center of Engabrunn, and behind it the legendary Bründl, from which Engabrunn supposedly derives its name.
Right across is the fire station with a rear extinguishing pond, which you should definitely take a look at.
Now it is not far to the Sebastian Church. There, all tired hikers can fall to their knees and thank God for the safe return. If you are lucky, the pastor will also be there and tell you some things about this interesting house of God, around which a legend also revolves. He will then also help you up from your knees again.
Now you are surely hungry again and have earned a proper snack. In Engabrunn, there are 4 Heurigen taverns that will be happy to serve you.
