The Elfenpfad is a section of the premium circular hiking route Traumschleife Diller Burgpfad and offers the perfect excursion tip for a short break in nature. With a length of about 1.6 kilometers, the Elfenpfad is ideal for a hike with children or for those seeking relaxation with little time.
Especially the approximately 400 meter long forest section along the Sohrbach enchants young and old.
With the variety of small forest inhabitants as well as an adventurous crossing of the stream via stepping stones, the outing in nature becomes a special experience. Behind every corner hides a new little forest inhabitant. The loving elf figures can be found in the air, on the ground, as well as in and on the trees.
Including the access path from the parking lot at K2 to the starting point, the hike is about 2.5 km long.
Author’s recommendation
When visiting Dill, you should definitely plan a little more time so that you can also make a detour to the Dill castle ruins!
In the former weighing hut at the ascent to the castle there is also a self-service beverage station.

Roadbook
If you arrive by car, drive to the parking lot located on the outskirts of Dill on the K2 towards Niedersohren and first follow the access signs through the town center to the starting point of the Elfenpfad.
The access leads from the parking lot through the town center via Denkmalstraße and then Dorfstraße to the weighing hut. Once there, turn left and follow Dorfstraße to the next intersection, where you again turn left at the first street towards the cemetery. Then follow the farm road for about 300 meters until you reach the starting point of the Elfenpfad.
At the starting point, cross the wooden bridge at the mill and follow the meadow path to the next intersection. Turn left there and follow the meadow path until the Elfenpfad meets the trail of the Traumschleife Diller Burgpfad and you turn right into the forest on a narrow path. From this point on, the exciting part of the trail begins. Along the narrow path beside the Sohrbach, small forest inhabitants in the form of elves await at various points in the air, on the ground, or in and on the trees over a distance of about 400 meters. At the end of this section, the path leads over stepping stones across the Sohrbach and then across the field.
At the end of the field, hikers on the Traumschleife Diller Burgpfad turn right and continue along the path through the valley. All hikers who follow the shorter route, the Elfenpfad, turn left towards the starting point and town center. Now the path goes straight ahead for about 700 meters until you return to the starting point of the Elfenpfad.
To get to the parking lot, follow the marked access path of the Elfenpfad.
