From the parking lot Kapons/Romedius Chapel it goes steeply up immediately, always following the path. At first, we follow the signs towards "Ochsner". Twice the forest road is crossed, but we stay on the path going upwards. Shortly below the Ochsner, we turn left. It then continues steeply towards "Thaurer Mähder". Over a small avalanche track to a scenic resting bench, always further up.
After a good hour, the path runs above the rock walls over the wonderful Thaurer Mähder. Again and again we pass small, private huts - each one more beautiful than the other. Over the Mähder it goes along the slope with wonderful views down to Hall, Thaur, and Absam.
At a crossroads, we keep to the left. Another option would be to go further up on the right to pass the Thaur Alm. But we now descend into the Thaurer Gorge.
At the end, concentration is required once more. The last section, before reaching the forest road to the Thaur Alm, is secured with a rope. But with calm and focus, this should not be a problem!
Now we walk along the Thaur Alm Road or the path back to the starting point.
