Long gone are the days when forests, meadows, and fields between Eggen and Stavatal, around Reiterjoch and Pampeago, were still intact and nature was still in order. What we experience today at Monte Agnello, at Satteljoch, and near the Eggentaler Alm is a landscape impaired by roads, pistes, lifts, and hotel constructions, a reflection of what twenty years ago delighted nature lovers there. Nevertheless, the remaining part is still worth a visit, where the chairlift from Obereggen quickly and leg-friendly transports you to the starting height Oberholz.
From Obereggen take the Oberholz lift to the mountain station. From here, 50 m south to a fork. Follow path number 23 straight along the wooded western slope of the Latemar and down to the Jst. Mayrl Alm, 2037 m. Descend southwards on a natural road to the Reiterjoch road (path no. 9) and ascend this to Reiterjoch, 1996 m (wayside shrine). The road (path no. 505), passing below Jst. Ganischger Alm, leads over meadows gently southeast to guesthouse Zischgalm, 2006 m. Return to Reiterjoch and beyond, take the natural road (path no. 9) on the west slope of the Latemar group over meadows and through forest northwards to the parking lot at the end of the asphalt road from Obereggen. Continue on a forest road (no. 9) just below it in the forest further down to an open water collection basin, then over meadows back to the road. Follow it northwards flat to Jst. Epircher Laner Alm, 1826 m. Turn left and on a forest road (path no. 10) through the wooded south flank of Golfrionberg westwards
