The Weinsberger Forest is one of the largest contiguous forests in eastern Austria. A special gem is the Edlesberger Pond near Gutenbrunn, surrounded by dense forests and accessible by car.
From the center of Gutenbrunn, take the asphalt road marked red with route no. 606 westwards over the Schwemmbach to a junction. Keep right on the marked footpath, heading northwards, to a turning area, then up in the forest to a forest road at Marienbild on the tree. Follow this road right (northwest) to the Edlesberger meadows and across them on the level to the asphalt road to be crossed (Schnitzkreuz), on which you reach Edlesberg, 864 m, heading north. There turn left to the Ghf. Trondl, then continue northwest on a natural road over fields to a hill with a fork.Keep right to the former Gasthof Seewolf on the east shore of Edlesberger Pond, 876 m. Continue on the natural road along the east shore to a junction. Turn left on the unpaved road along the shore, then away from the lake, continue level and turn left (west) to a clearing at the southern foot of the Kleiner Höllberg. Turn right and steeply ascend northwest on the unpaved road to a junction. Turn right onto the path
