This varied circular route connects the two local recreation areas Echinger See and Hollerner See, passing the Mallertshofer Holz nature reserve with its typical heath vegetation. Here the trail also crosses the Heidepfad, which provides information via several stations about the heath landscape of the Munich gravel plain and its animal and plant life.
The route starts in the center of Eching and leads past Heidestraße to Eching's leisure area with Monte Eho. The path then continues from the Echinger See recreation area to Mallertshofer Holz and runs directly to the Hollerner See recreation area. From there the route leads back to Eching (Stachus). You can also start from Echinger See.
Note for dog owners: To protect the bird and animal life, dogs are prohibited at both lakes during the bathing season.
In Mallertshofer Holz the paths should not be left and the forests should not be entered. A leash obligation for dogs applies year-round.
