East crossing Kreuzeck group in 5 stages
This crossing is rated as relatively easy for hikers, although a few sections require surefootedness and only moderate physical effort is needed! In return, the hike in the east of the Kreuzeck group offers everything nature lovers and hikers could wish for. Traditionally managed alpine meadows, enchanting mountain paths, wonderful views, rugged mountain peaks, and cozy mountain huts and alpine restaurants.
We recommend completing the route in five hiking days, with the summits Gr. Salzkofel and the Kreuzeck being worthwhile options to include.

The east crossing in five days
Route day 1: From Möllbrücke over the "Sachsenweg" (= alpine mountain path - first through forest, later over alpine meadows) to the Salzkofelhütte!
Route day 2: From the Salzkofelhütte (1987m) optionally to the Gr. Salzkofel (2498m) in a scenic but not quite easy hike (surefootedness and some secured sections required). After returning to the hut, crossing over the Salztörl (2273m) into the Teuchl to the GH. Alpenheim. Just before the Salztörl some surefootedness needed!
Route day 3: From the Alpenheim over the Kaltseetörl (2481m) to the Feldnerhütte (2187m) and optionally to the Kreuzeck (2702m). On the summit ascent, a short section about 100 meters below the summit requires a head for heights and surefootedness. However, this section can be bypassed on the left via the ridge!
Route day 4: From Feldnerhütte over the Lackentörl and the Zweiseetörl to the Alpine guesthouse Sattlegger (1750m) on the Embergeralm. Between the passes, a few places require surefootedness!
Route day 5: From the Alpine guesthouse descent to Greifenburg to the train station and return journey to Möllbrücke!
Walking times for stages: Between 4 - 6 hours! Summit ascents each + 2-3 hours (round trip to the hut)!
