Beautiful views and a cool fountain.
From the parking lot at the pilgrimage church Maria Limbach (Limbach/Eltmann), start heading south and soon pass a land consolidation monument to an asphalted path. You walk straight on this path for a while until you turn left at the forest edge towards the Maintal highway. The path leads through an underpass to the other side of the main road and then runs parallel to it with a wonderful view of Hermannsberg and its Kronberg vineyard to a bridge where you cross the A70 again. Now you initially walk on a forest road, then turn left uphill on a natural path to the idyllic Hufnagel fountain located in the forest. Shortly after, you reach the highlight of the hike, the grassy and flower-covered Spitzberg. From the 319m high summit, stunning views in all directions are offered before you descend the mountain and walk behind the cemetery to the Gnadenbrünnlein, which is said to have healing powers. The crowning conclusion of the tour is a visit to the beautiful baroque pilgrimage church Maria Limbach, built in the 18th century according to plans by Balthasar Neumann.
