River landscape and vistas
From the parking lot at Mainlände (Eltmann), the route leads eastward on the pedestrian and bike path past the marina out of town and shortly thereafter turns left through the Main meadows. There are always beautiful views of the Main River and its tributaries to enjoy until you reach Eschenbach. Here, you cross the federal road, walk through the town, and finally uphill to the Vierzehn-Heiligen Chapel. The route continues on a ridge path with a wonderful view of the Main valley to the Wallburg castle ruins. On Sundays, the castle tower is open in good weather; as a reward for the climb, you are treated to magnificent panoramic views over Eltmann, the Main valley, and the Hassberge hills. Visitors who are not free from dizziness can use the QR code to move through the tower and enjoy the 360-degree view from below. A panorama swing invites you at the Wallburg site to "fly" over the Main valley. Afterwards, you walk down the historic Schlosssteige with 365 steps and through the idyllic old town back to the starting point.
